STRENSALL arrows ace Chris Quantock beat two-time world darts champion Adrian Lewis 6-2 on his way to qualifying for the final PDC European Tour event of the year.

Quantock made the field for next week’s HappyBet European Darts Trophy in Gottingen, Germany after knocking out the world number four and Mick McGowan by the same scoreline in Dublin.

Fellow Minsterman Richie Corner will not be joining him after losing 6-2 to Lee Bryant.

In the latest Players Championship events in Dublin, Quantock also reached the last 32 on the first day of competition, overcoming Keegan Brown (6-5) and Andy Boulton (6-4) before bowing out to world number three Peter Wright 6-4.

He fell at the first hurdle, though, the following day to Steve Lennon (6-3).

Corner was defeated 6-4 by former World Championship finalist Simon Whitlock, but beat Wayne Jones 6-5 in the second event, only to exit to eventual winner Mensur Suljovic 6-2.
