TELEVISED international bowls is returning to York.

New Earswick & District Indoor Bowls Club staged the England versus Scotland series 12 months ago and is doing so again this week and next, starting today.

All four days of action are being broadcast live on ITV4.

The women’s international takes place tomorrow and Thursday, while the men's matches follow next Wednesday and Thursday.

The England side will also feature world number one Greg Harlow.

Tickets cost £5 per day and are available from the club by phoning 01904 750230.

A club statement said: "The matches are televised but to see the top-class action live and close up, get down to the club where tickets are on sale.

"If you have never watched live bowling come down and then hopefully you will be inspired and want to try the game for yourself."

Doors open each day at 8.30am and play starts at 10.30am.

Meanwhile, New Earswick IBC are also running a series of coaching sessions starting on Friday.

All potential players are welcome regardless of experience. For times and details, phone the club on 01904 750230. Anyone interested in going along but unable to make these sessions can also phone to organise an introductory session with a coach.
