SIMON DYSON carded the sixth-best round of the day at the KLM Open in the Netherlands today but he remained out of the running after his nightmare first round.

Three of the York-born golf star’s six European Tour wins have come in this competition but he was an outsider this time as he continues to struggle for consistency due to long-standing wrist problems.

Those woes continued as he fired a six-over-par 77 on Thursday, including three double-bogeys, but he found better form in round two with a cracking four-under 67, including a wonderful eagle at the par-five sixth hole, a scene of a double-bogey 24 hours earlier.
