UP-AND-COMING Malton & Norton Golf Club ace David Hague has earned more plaudits after finishing second in the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs' Amateur Championship.
Played at the Cleveland Golf Club, Hallamshire GC's Alex Fitzpatrick was the big winner, finishing on a superb 23 under par over the four rounds, including a stunning 62 in the second.
England amateur international Hague carded rounds of 70, 69, 66 and 73 to end on 10 under par to take runner-up place and the Silver Salver.
Fulford GC teenager Charlie Thornton, the 2016 England Golf Boys' Order of Merit winner, also finished on 10 under to take third place, after rounds of 70, 66, 67 and 75.
The pair helped the York Union finished second in the team event to Fitzpatrick's Sheffield.
There had been a total of 70 entries for the first two rounds, with 40 players making the cut to contest the title.
