TRACEY FARMEARY threw a 22-dart leg to lead title hopefuls Tramways ‘A’ to a resounding 8-1 win over Edinburgh Arms in the York John Smith's Ladies' League.

Donna Lynes had won the opening game for Edinburgh but it was all 'Ways thereafter as they took over top spot in division one - previous leaders Fulfordgate dropping to fourth having had a free week.

Castle Howard Ox went second as they beat Priory, Anne Bass throwing a 138 checkout (2x60, double 9) for a 24-dart pairs leg alongside Tracey Watkinson.

Ox have a better win ratio then Burnholme, who are now third. They were prevented from a clean sheet against Marcia by Chris Hayward.

Burnholme's Sharon Neads hit the tons, as did Marcia captain Faye Hawksby.

Severus 'A' pipped visitors Leeman 'B' after a deciding pairs leg.

Brenda Dawe and Julie Oliver put Leeman two up, before Steph Barker and Davina Shannon, gaming in 23 darts, made it 2-2.

Laura Heward and Vicki Capes sent the visitors into the pairs 4-2 ahead, but Sue Richardson-Carol Robson and Shannon/Glynnis Simpson equalised again. Barker/Jackie Simpson got the winner.

Slipper remained top of division two after winning at Saddle.

Captain Doreen Johnstone put them ahead and, although Sharon Nelson replied, Elaine Metcalfe, Anita Adams and Jody Hancock reinforced the visitors' intent.

Sharon Lyons narrowed the margin but Adams/Hancock sealed match points and Johnstone/Ann Parkyn capped matters.

Second-placed Severus 'B', who have a match in hand, likewise won 8-3 at Burton Stone to keep the pressure on, their joy coming in the pairs.

Captain Linda Embleton, Sandra Pallister and Sheila Harrison had Stone ahead in the singles, but Wendy Storr, Sharon Mountain and Angie Kaya replied and the club side won all the pairs games.

Kirsty Limbert top scored in Puss In Boots' 8-3 victory over Tramways 'B'.

Carol Lane, Alison Buckley and Jackie Young also bagged singles wins and Limbert joined Lisa Russell to seal victory in the pairs.

Clifton and visitors Clockhouse were both a player light and ended the game tied at 4-4.

Sisters Linda and Cris Turgoose gave the home side an excellent start but Lisa Benton and Rose Gray replied. Angela Fletcher gave Clifton the edge again but Kate Rankeillor/Lauren Tatterfield levelled. Gray/Laura Gatenby then edged Clockhouse in front but Linda Turgoose/Freda Harman made sure the match ended all square.

Team registration forms should be with the league secretary by Thursday.
