WITH just four weeks to go in the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League, none of the promotion and relegation places have been resolved.

The top four teams played the bottom four in Division Five.

Rufforth stay top by one point, led by top scorers David Laws and Sarah Skidmore, following the visit of Stillington.

They are just one point ahead of second-placed Tollerton, who beat neighbours Alne.

Jake Lonsdale and Beth Barker ensured that York stay in contention in third place, winning 26 games against Fulford, who are favourites for relegation.

Adam Raistrick and Shelagh Elcock top-scored for Cawood to keep them in touch for promotion after beating Bishopthorpe.

York stay in second place in Division One after the visit of Fulford, with unbeaten Angus Smith and Jill Le Pla closely followed by Dunnington first team after they beat Heworth and then Wigginton, with Brad Swainston and Rebecca Hill winning 31 games in both fixtures.

Bubwith have moved up to third in Division Two after the section#s top scorers Mark Harris and Jill Rounce put in another two match-winning performances - 28 games at York and 27 against second-placed Rufforth.

Relegation again looks to be going down to the re-arranged matches after bottom team Bishopthorpe had a good win against Sherburn, with top scorers James Field and Ellie Page being unbeaten again.

Fulford go top of Division Three and slow visitors David Lloyd's promotion hopes, with Tom Craddock and Wendy Cook winning 27 games.

York and Wilberfoss played their scheduled match and early-season rained-off fixture last week and shared the points, with the home teams winning.

Chris Oldfield and Alex Gurnell took 25 games at home for Wilberfoss, and Neil Johnson and Margaret Whitehead 26 at York.

Appleton Roebuck still top Division Four, with Dave Bradley and Kate Butterfield being the pick of the pairings after their win against Rowntree Park, and they stay ahead of Riccall, with these two favourites to go up.

Top scorers of the week were George Lintott and Louise Marshman, who dropped just one game against a very good Dunnington side.

It's all change at the top of Division Seven again this week, with New Earswick beating promotion rivals Bubwith as Keith Pearson and Nicky Georgiou matched the 26 games won by James Chambers and Lynn Stables.

Heworth grabbed the opportunity and moved into second after Andy Cuttill and Monica Haritakis won 30 games, just ahead of Nick Milner and Christine Vis in winning against Tollerton.

Their outstanding matches will have a big say in the final standings.

Riccall's second team are looking to make it a double promotion year for their club, with the second team making it one win closer after John Lintott and Heather Page won 25 games against second-placed Riccall, well supported by Scott Anderson and Faye Lintott.

Riccall remain favourites for promotion after bouncing back with a win at Wheldrake, with Dan Russell and Phillipa Page the top scorers.

Division Eight looks to be between three teams, led by Wigginton, who had a big win against third-placed Fulford after Dom Wright and Sandra Burley matched the 30 games won by team- mates Ben Storey and Karen Walker.

David Lloyd stay second with a victory against Dunnington.

Gary Cashmore and Fran Critchley won 30 games for Bishopthorpe as they beat Poppleton to leave the second relegation spot wide open.

It's any two from the top four of Division Ten after last weeks results, with leaders Stamford Bridge still unbeaten.

David Lloyd take over second spot, denting opponents Sutton-upon-Derwent's own hopes by not dropping a rubber, led by Lee Brayford and Eva Pears.
