Sarah Jackson joined captain Marj Pearson to seal victory after a brave fight from the visitors.
Fulfordgate stayed in the hunt despite a 5-4 loss to Tramways ‘A’ whose Bev Harton and Laurel Farmeary combined to secure match points.
Severus ‘A’ recovered after they fell 4-2 adrift as visitors Edinburgh excelled in the singles. However, the club side responded by winning the remaining games with Sue Richardson/Steph Barker snatching victory,
Marcia versus Priory also went to the wire. The home team had Joan Hunter, Faye Hawksby, Chris Hayward, Linda Penrose sending them into the pairs with a 4-2 advantage.
Ellen Platt/Di Moreland and Sallie Richardson/Babs Harrison set up a decider which saw Clair Cooper combining with Becky Thompson to snatch victory for Priory.
In division two, front-runners Slipper excelled and Ann Parkyn was in particularly fine form as they took home a 6-3 result from Tramways ‘B’.
Second-placed Severus ‘B’ went one better than their rivals, winning all the pairs for a 7-2 win at Clifton.
Puss in Boots (Shoulder) kept themselves in the hunt despite being taken to the wire by visitors Burton Stone – Margaret Forth/Kirsty Limbert winning the decider for Puss.
Leeman ‘A’ pairing Dawn Clarke/Margaret Yeomans secured match points against visitors Saddle.
June 27's matches saw a quick jump back to the top of division one by Fulfordgate as Priory pairing Ann Anderson/Ellen Platt prevented a total drubbing.
Burnholme are well placed, recovering after Sue Tate and Sandra Bruce give hosts Ox a fine start.
However, ‘Holme responded with Caroline Whittaker starting a match-winning run. Marcia were prevented from netting a full house by Leeman's Julie Oliver.
With second tier leaders Slipper having a rest, Severus ‘B’ were given a fright by visitors Tramways ‘B’ whose Karen Alton, Becky Thompson, Georgina Clayton, and Wendy Sullivan sent them into the pairs 4-2 ahead.
The remaining games went to the hosts with Wendy Storr/Sharon Mountain snatching victory.
Debbie Witts/Margaret Yeomans won the decider for visitors Leeman ‘A’ at Clockhouse, while Puss in Boots took home a 6-3 result from Saddle, with captain Alison Buckley closing on a two dart 89 (treble 19 double 16) in the pairs with Carol Price.
