YORK golfer Simon Dyson will be desperate for improvement at the Nordea Masters after a disappointing display at the BMW PGA Championship.
Dyson, who has struggled on the European Tour since since wrist surgery two summers ago, finished only two shots off the bottom of the field at Wentworth.
His second and final round ended with a triple bogey that took his overall score to nine over par.
Sweden's Alex Noren won the tournament, and the first ever Rolex Series event, thanks to a course record final round of 62 which included an eagle on the final hole. He finished on eleven under par, two shots clear of Italy's Francesco Molinari.
It was Noren's ninth triumph on the European Tour and was worth a staggering £894,000.
Dyson, meanwhile, will be back in action at the Nordea Masters which starts on Thursday in Malmo.
The Malton & Norton professional, 39, has been a full-time player on the European Tour since 2001, winning six titles including three KLM Opens and the 2011 Irish Open, and finishing eighth in the Race to Dubai in 2009.
However, he has missed the cut in the last four tournaments this season and is now ranked 1495th in the world. He recently told The Press that there are times when he thinks his career may be over.
Sheffield's Matthew Fitzpatrick will be defending his title in Malmo in a field that will also include local favourite and The Open tournament winner Henrik Stenson and Denmark's Thomas Bjørn, the 2018 European Ryder Cup captain.
