CITY of York Athletic Club bagged no fewer than 16 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals - plus two competition records - over the two-day Yorkshire County Championships at Cudworth.

Lucy Hadaway took gold in the under-20s women's long jump and 100 metres, plus silver in the shot putt and javelin.

She set a new championship best in the long jump, in which City of York enjoyed a 1-2-3 with Alice Linekar taking silver and Rachel White bronze. White also won bronze in the shot putt.

In the same age group, Georgia Rothwell and Alex Botterill won gold in the 800 metres, and Angus McMillan gold in the 300 metres.

Charlotte Stamp won silver in 200m and bronze in 400m, while all-rounder Thomas Flatters took silver in the javelin and shot putt and bronze in the long jump.

Alex Tetley took bronze in the javelin, Philippa Baxter bronze in the 200m, and Frances Milburn bronze in the hammer.

Ace thrower Maria Schofield starred at U17s level, setting a new championship record in the women's hammer and also taking gold in the discus, plus silver in shot putt.

Alice Mann won javelin gold and Isabel Bradshaw took bronze in both the javelin and shot putt.

Josh Dickinson won the 3,000 metres and Sola Sowole claimed bronze in the 100m.

At U15s level, Luke Robinson took gold and Daisy Jackson silver in the javelin.

Rebecca Bell won silver in shot putt, likewise Martha Carlton-Seal in the 1,500m. Max Farmer-Beasley took silver in both the 200m and 300m.

York won three gold medals in the senior women's section - Rebecca Campsall winning the 100m, Christina Nick the shot putt and Sarah Parsons the discus. Rebecca Wilkinson took bronze in the 800m.

In the senior men, Daniel Fleming won the discus and British number Scott Lincoln likewise took gold in the shot putt.
