EARLY pace-setters Holgate WMC have maintained their 100 per cent start to the season in the York Amateur Bowling Association League.
Holgate beat last season's division two champions Rowntree 7-1 before beating second placed Selby 7-1 at Baffam Lane.
Winning rinks were Gary Lewington, who got off to a slow start before winning quite comfortably, Alan Smith who overcame Peter Lund, and Peter Jackson who beat Trevor Quainton. Tony Longfield salvaged a point for the hosts with a victory over Steve Lea.
Selby stay second and enjoyed a 7-1 victory over Haxby Road on match day three.
Bootham are enjoying their return to division one and are currently third after a 6-2 victory over Dringhouses.
RI Corinthians beat struggling Clifton 8-0.
RI Amateurs returned to winning ways with a 6.5-1.5 win over Rowntree.
In division two, Copmanthorpe also have a 100 per cent record and held on to top spot with a 6-2 victory over West Park at the Recreation Ground.
Stamford Bridge continued their strong start with a 6-2 away win over Minster.
Hull Road Park recovered from their defeat last week to beat Harrogate 6-2.
Scarcroft had the best result of the round with an 8-0 whitewash of Retreat.
Poppleton Road WMC, last season's joint champions in division three, also maintained their winning start with a 6-2 win over Poppleton.
Three games were completed in division two on match day four.
Osbaldwick hosted Poppleton at Glen Gardens and came out 7-1 victors.
Poppleton Road WMC had a short away trip to Scarcroft and beat their hosts 7-1. Stamford Bridge overcame Retreat with a similar 7-1 win.
