TOCKWITH's Sarah Moore marked her debut weekend in the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup with a hard-fought podium finish at Donington Park.

Moore, a former Ginetta junior champion, finished third in a Tockwith Ligier JSP3 when the second of the weekend's two one hour races was red-flagged with five minutes to go.

Driving for the family-owned 'Tockwith Motorsports' team, Moore had finished fifth with team-mate Richard Dean in the first race on Saturday afternoon.

"It was a really good learning weekend," Moore said. "On Saturday, we came out on a big high and we had really good lap-times. We knew the car was capable it was just a case of getting a bit more confidence with the car.

"The big thing, for me, coming out of this weekend is how much harder these cars are to overtake in, compared to the sports cars that I’m used to! Also, when you are behind a car, coming into a corner, you lose the 'aero' and that has a big effect.

"So it was a big learning curve for me but I’ve really enjoyed it," she added. "I think there is still more in myself - in terms of getting the most out of the car - and there is still more to come."
