YORK boxer Danny ‘The Tasmanian Devil’ Holmes maintained the unbeaten start to his professional career with a narrow points victory over Dewsbury-based veteran Youseff al-Hamidi.

Light-welterweight Holmes, who is trained and managed by Glenn Banks at the York Masters Boxing Club, out-pointed his Syrian-born opponent 39-37 during four rounds of boxing at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds.

The show was promoted by Leeds’ based Mark Bateson.

Holmes, who is sponsored by YBS Yorkshire Building Services, will next be in action at the Energise Leisure Centre, York, on Saturday March 18.

He has won all four of his fights since turning professional 11 months ago.
