ACOMB Men's first-team were beaten 4-3 by Ramgarhia I in a match filled with tension and full of suspensions.

The visitors' main forward was useful in creating opportunities as well as being chief antagonist, with the umpire’s decision-making constantly being questioned, so much so that the 35-minute first half was nearly 50 minutes.

Ramgarhia went up by two goals before Acomb replied. The home team's first goal came from Jamie Robinson in the second half.

The visitors increased that lead before Matt Dickenson closed the gap again.

The Tangerines worked their socks off and Robinson fired home a rocket from an acute angle to draw the game level.

Despite their best efforts, Acomb's defence faltered and Ramgarhia snatched three points with a 4-3 victory.

Acomb Men’s IIs travelled to take on Leeds VIIIs after their previous fixture ended in a 3-3 draw.

Acomb started well and for the opening 15 minutes lay siege in the opposition's half, but were unable to profit from any of their chances.

The home side came back into the game, but the Tangerines slotted the opening goal in the 29th minute through Tom Brown.

Spurred on by conceding that goal, Leeds encroached more into Acomb’s half and with two minutes to go in the first half they equalised.

Acomb started the second half on the front foot, chasing down Leeds back four, and the game continued with the visitors having slightly more possession.

Then in the closing minutes, Acomb regained the lead with Rob Ireland deflecting the ball past the keeper.

Two minutes later, Jonny Brown sealed the Tangerines' 3-1 win when he found himself in front of the goal with a simple push into the back of the net.

Acomb Ladies found their lead over Hull University in division two cut to two points when third-placed Pocklington ran out 2-1 winners – with all the goals coming in the first half.

The visitors started strongly. They took the lead from a penalty corner after 25 minutes through Lisa Sellers and doubled their advantage within seven minutes thanks to Georgina Booth.

The Tangerines were passing well with Georgi Wood covering acres, and they were rewarded in the last minute of the first half when Kerry Woods struck from a penalty corner.

An injury to Stephanie Barker in Acomb’s goal made the Tangerines defence work hard, with Jane Elsworth, Sally Fairweather and Sam Storr outstanding and the visitors hardly had a look in.

Acomb maintained the majority of possession but missing two key players just couldn’t find an equaliser.
