RUGBY union players from Pocklington School have been celebrating a host of regional call-ups.

Elliot Adamson and Jonty Atkinson played for Yorkshire U18s against Northumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire.

Both have also been selected in the Independent Lambs North Divisional side and will be vying for places in the National side over the New Year.

School captain Toby Stephenson and first XV players Jack Garvin and James Laudage have also been selected for the Independent Lambs North Squad.

Ben Carlile continues to impress as a prop with Yorkshire Carnegie and has now been promoted to their senior academy side.

He has also been training with the England U17 squad and is hoping to be involved in international games in March.

Oliver Rayner is continuing to progress with the school 1st XV and is a member of the Yorkshire Carnegie Junior Academy. He is currently preparing for tough academy fixtures in January against Newcastle Falcons, Worcester Warriors and Leicester Tigers.

Fifth formers Lawrence Mason and Josh Longthorp, who also play in the school's 1st XV, have been selected in the Yorkshire U16 squads and will take part in the county's fixtures against Lancashire and Cheshire in January. Mason is also a member of the Yorkshire Carnegie Junior Development squad.

Fourth year pupil Harry Matthews, meanwhile, was selected for the Yorkshire U15s 'A' team who played Cheshire on December 18 at Burnage RFC. He plays outside centre for the school's U15 'A' team and will be involved in the county match against Lancashire in early January.

Ben McNamara, inside centre for the school’s U15s 'A' team has been selected for the City of Hull Rugby League elite academy who also have fixtures in January.

"We are very proud of the talent that is being produced here at Pocklington School and look forward to seeing them continue to develop and fulfil their potential in years to come.”
