SWIMMERS from York City Baths Club enjoyed success at the ASA National Masters and Age Group Championships in Sheffield.

European Master champion Emma Wills won a hat-trick of gold medals in individual events (mixed 800m freestyle, 400m free, and 1500m free) and also helped the 4x100m relay team win silver.

The team, which was making its first competitive appearance, included David Wiseman who captained the UK team at this year's Invictus Games, along with husband and wife duo Nick and Louise Boaz.

Tom Bartram and York University student Andrea Meo teamed up with Wills and Louise Boaz to finish sixth in the 4x50m freestyle and eighth in the 4x50m medley.

Louise Boaz also won individual gold in the 100m freestyle and topped her age group in the 50m freestyle.

Wills, a personal trainer and sports massage therapist from Acomb, also snatched a silver medal in the 200m backstroke.

York City Baths Club spokesperson Lyn Fenby said, "It's great to see the Masters section doing so well, getting out there and competing and bringing back medals, personal bests, and more experience of high level competitive swimming.

"Not all our Masters swimmers choose to compete and for a number of years those who have chosen to also swim competitively, have dominated and done well in the individual events," she added. "It's great to see that there is now the uptake, support, and success in the team events."
