MATT Dickenson's disputed late equaliser salvaged a point for Acomb I against local rivals City of York V in Yorkshire Men's Hockey League division two.

The Tangerines started strongly and Dickenson scored from a penalty corner. Carl Brindley spurned a golden opportunity to double the lead before York equalised through Ethan Plumb.

Josh De Silva and Chris Knowles strengthened York's grip on the contest and there were just five minutes to play when Dickenson levelled to keep Acomb above York in the table.

Snow had to be cleared from the pitch before Acomb II's impressive 13-1 victory at Bradford IV in division five north.

Anthony Daley (5), Tom Brown (4), Jonny Brown (2) Luke Yates, and Tom Whitfield scored Acomb's goals.

Acomb Ladies continued their fine form with an emphatic 9-0 win at Bingley Bees and are now three points clear at the top of Yorkshire Women's Hockey League division two.

The result was never in doubt and the goal tally could easily have been doubled.

Skipper Kerry Woods eclipsed the performance of Anthony Daley for the men by netting six goals! Hannah Yoward scored twice and Georgi Wood’s speed, work rate, and skill earned her a goal in a fine all round team performance.
