EASINGWOLD's Stuart Rank has been appointed 'director of golf' at Herefordshire's oldest club, the Raven's Causeway in Wormsley.

Rank, 39, is moving from the prestigious Stoke Park Club in Buckinghamshire - which is one of only five in the country holding the coveted ‘Five Red Star’ rating for service.

He leaves his position as head of instruction at Stoke Park where Olympic rower Sir Matthew Pinsent was among his students. He also managed the club’s successful youth scholarship programme, taking youngsters through to the England regional team and international levels.

Rank had been the assistant professional at Easingwold Golf Club for eight years prior to moving to Stoke Park in 2007. He now lives in Worcester with his wife, Kate, and two young children.

Meanwhile, Kevin Dwyer, President elect of the Harrogate Area Rabbit's Golf Association, has become the first Heworth and Harrogate area member to win the Yorkshire President's Trophy in the period April-October.
