YORK boxer Danny Holmes will take part in his second professional contest tonight against Welsh boxer Henry James.

Over 200 supporters from York have bought tickets for the Mark Bateson promotion which is being held in the pavilion at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium.

Trainer Glenn Banks said: "Training has gone to plan and sparring has been stepped up and Danny has improved massively."

Meanwhile, Harry Matthews returns to the ring against Telford's Kieron Gray in a middleweight contest on the same bill.

Matthews has spent the last 18 months concentrating on a personal training business, Apollo fitness. He is now managed by Banks and trained by Scarborough based Ryan Ashworth and strength and conditioning coach Danny Hauge in Malton.

Super middleweight professional Paul "Flash" Gordon had to pull out of tonight's promotion due to injury but hopes to return to action later this year.
