ENGLAND DUTY: City of York athletes Alex Botterill and Lucy Hadaway
CITY of York Athletic Club aces Lucy Hadaway and Alex Botterill have won England call-ups after victories in the English Schools competition at Gateshead last weekend.
Hadaway, who attends Manor CE Academy, won the under-17 long jump with a new personal best of 6.01 metres, while Botterill, who attends Archbishop Holgate's School, won gold in the under-17s 800 metres in a time of 1 minute 52.61 seconds.
Both were representing North Yorkshire and will now represent England in this weekend's Home Countries schools track and field international at Ashford in Kent.
