Bubwith moved into second place as the unbeaten Jon Lonthorp and Jill Rounce led the way against Rowntree Park just ahead of Rob Jackson and Julia Bamber.

Cliffe stay second in division three after a close fought win at Appleton Roebuck with Joel Hancox and Kate Reader winning 23 games but unable to beat Appleton’s Dave Luscombe and Pauline Belt.

Fulford stay fourth after their last gasp win at Sutton upon Derwent thanks to the unbeaten Leo Knighton and Wendy Cook.

A second round 12-0 win for Chris Hobson and Frankie Marsh grabbed much needed points for Sutton upon Derwent who climbed out of the relegation zone above opponents Wilberfoss.

York are one of just five teams still unbeaten at the top of division four following victory over visitors Poppleton. Reg Favell and Margaret Whitehead won their middle set 11-1 in an otherwise close encounter.

David Lloyd are still second, also beating Poppleton, with Lloyd’s top scorers Richard Tasker and Frances Mutter opening with a decisive 10-2 win.

Division five has now split into two after the latest matches led by Rowntree Park 2, who have Kevin Davison and Sandra Robinson to thank for a 9-3 win that secured the points against Cawood.

Wilberfoss extended their lead at the top of division nine headed by Charlie Dodds and Aileen Hunt who won 29 games at Dunnington fifths to win again.

Rufforth are just two points behind with two games in hand after first couple Dan Russel and Kate Lewis won another 29 games to keep their side in the silverware hunt against Wigginton.
