THERE is no stopping Acomb 'A' in the York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg UK Snooker League.

They recorded their second 7-0 victory in a row as they inflicted another whitewash over Fulford 'B' and pulled further away from the chasing pack.

Dan Potter had a let off against Phil Cook. His opponent missed a straight blue to clinch the frame and allowed Potter to take the three remaining colours.

Roland Cox played well to beat Dean Smith and Keith Thornhill produced solid snooker to defeat Andy Hurley.

Nick Marchant won his frame easily to make the score 4-0 and Phil Carlton sank some brilliant long pots in his win over Bob Smith.

Captain Richard Lillie kept the momentum going for Acomb, despite having to dig deep to overcome Joe Kimbling, and Mick Borg completed the trouncing when seeing off Jim Rollinson.

Second placed Fulford 'A' ran out 5-2 victors over Acomb 'B'.

Sam Parkinson and Sam England (32 break) led the way as they defeated Jon Milner and Kevin Ventress to put Fulford 2-0 up.

Brian Henry hit back for Acomb with a good win over Sam Wass and Jeff Winter levelled the scores with his victory over Alan Reed.

But Fulford rattled off the last three frames.

Great safety play from Glen Mountain saw him past Andy Stone and Tom Lewis produced two 27 breaks as he ran away with the frame against Steve Rodgers.

Jim Lee (22 break) completed proceedings with a comfortable success over Chris Nicholson.

Bootham 'B' could not make home advantage count as they lost 4-3 to Heworth 'A'.

The latter's Jordan Worobec was in fine form, compiling a 40 break in his defeat of Paul Scorfield, but Matt Smith levelled for Bootham against Gary Douglas.

Neil Wood and Nick Dyson made the score 3-1 to Heworth as they defeated Ian Robinson and Paul Mahoney.

Andy Proud (28 break) beat Steve Burdett, but Clive Whyte clinched the match against Paul Powell. Lionel Barnes overcome Mark Winskill in the last frame to pull one back for Bootham.

A last frame win for Bootham 'A' saw them defeat Heworth 'B' 4-3 in a match filled with drama.

Bootham's Rob Barron kept up his unbeaten run in the league when beating John Sherlock on the black only for Carl De Pasquale to level the match with victory over Jan Suchecki.

Barry Rankin put Bootham back in front but Colin Robinson suffered misfortune. Needing the black for the win, he missed and the white went in off.

A tense match between Andi Ireland and Jeff Brown saw very good safety play by both players. It was finally resolved as Brown potted green to pink to win the frame and match.

Acomb 'A' have 50 points and are eight points clear of Fulford 'A' at the top of the table. Heworth 'A' are third on 38.

Borg and Barron are both unbeaten - having won all nine games - and lead the way in the Worthington Player of the Year standings. Borg is also in front in the race for the Pasema Paving Highest Break award with 87.
