MICHELLE BRITTON'S 20 dart leg, including a maximum, helped Fulfordgate keep their noses in front in division one of the York John Smith's Ladies Darts League.

Tramways ‘A’ had Carole Layne responding with 23 darts as the teams entered the pairs all square but mother and daughter team, Amanda and Cara Britton, started a match-winning clean sweep in the pairs as Fulfordgate won 6-3.

Close rivals Tramways ‘B’ had captain Tracey Farmeary gaming in 23 at Acomb, whose Lisa Benton, Rose Hairsine and daughter Laura Gatenby saw the teams enter the pairs 3-3.

But the visitors saw Farmeary, joined by daughter Lauren, with pair Sue Turpin and Natalie Farmeary and sisters Bev Harton and Jayne Janes in securing a 6-3 win.

Burnholme were taken to the wire by visitors Jubilee with Marj Pearson, Caroline Whittaker and Lynne Willstrop ensuring the club side entered the pairs on level terms.

Jubilee skipper Heather Bulmer, along with Vicki Capes and Julie Oliver, starred while Pearson and Jane Dobson edged Burnholme in front. Brenda Dawe and Laura Howard set up the decider. Whittaker and Jest West snatched victory in that with a 25-dart leg.

Anne Bass won the opening game for visitors Ox ‘B’ at Marcia whose Sue Smith, Anne Cornthwaite, Linda Penrose and Faye Hawksby replied.

Sandra Bruce narrowed the lead but a clean sweep in the pairs gave the home team a resounding 7-2 win.

Division two leaders Severus 'B' took home a 6-3 win from Leeman with Dawn Clarke and Debbie Witts winning their singles but this was overshadowed by wins from Sharon Mountain, Michelle Kelly, Ann Meek and Dot Sellers.

Meek was joined by Jeanette Stuart to seal victory, with pair Sellars and Angie Kaya adding to their tally.

Saddle galloped over visitors Clifton whose Angie Fletcher saved a clean sweep in the singles.

Captain Doreen England sealed victory along with the two Sharons - Nelson and Lyons - while pair Liz Jackson and Kath Powell reinforced Saddle's points tally.

Kat Powell hit plenty of tons for the visitors and, despite being a player light, Sandra Flintoft and Jackie Young secured a 5-4 win for Green Tree at Severus ‘A’ in a closely contested match.
