BUBWITH celebrated successive title wins at the Fulford Ladies Invitational Tennis League presentations by picking up the division five trophy. In a close championship race, they took the title on games difference over Dunnington.

Wilberfoss, who have just missed out on promotion for the last couple of seasons, secured the division six title and were the highest games scorers in the league. David Lloyd will move up with them after finishing the season with a six match unbeaten run.

Copmanthorpe won the division four title so bounce straight back up after being relegated last season. They will be joined in division three by Tollerton, who finished only two points behind them.

Wigginton claimed the division three crown, finishing just a point ahead of Cliffe.

David Lloyd will return to the top flight after just one season in division two, claiming the title just ahead of Bishopthorpe who will join them in the top tier next season.

York 1 bagged their third division one title in a row and were the only unbeaten team in the league. Dunnington were runners up, losing only two matches to the champions.

Each division’s top games scorers were recognised at the presentations. They were Wendy Stirke (York 1) 401, Sheila Dixbury (David Lloyd 1) 274, Denise Crane (Wigginton 1) 315, Sandra Jennings (Tollerton) 311, Liz Bramley (Bubwith 1) 318 and Michelle Helm (Wilberfoss) 417.
