FULFORDGATE kept their unbeaten run going in York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one in a close game at Tramways ‘A’.

Home captain Sue Lowery won the opening leg but opposing captain Michelle Britton, niece Cara Britton and Jill Reed, who threw a 25-dart leg, set Gate on their way.

Emma Rientoul narrowed the gap but Dawn Exton restored it and, although Lowery and Carole Layne hit back again in the pairs, Exton-Reed combined to seal victory before Karen Alton-Judy Hall gained a point for the hosts.

Second-placed Burnholme had match points in the bag in the singles with Steph Barker being visitors Severus ‘A’s only winner.

Sev won the remaining games to narrow the win margin.

Ox ‘B’ also won by the narrowest of margins at Marcia ‘B’.

Denise Fowler (25) and Sandra Bruce gave Ox a good start before landlady Linda Welch and Sue Smith struck back. Anne Bass edged the visitors in front again but Marcia captain Faye Hawksby (25) sent the game into the pairs all square.

Fowler-Bruce and Bass-Sue Tate sealed Ox's victory.

Angie Kaya gave Severus ‘B’ the advantage over visitors Tramways ‘B’, but Jayne Janes kick-started a winning response, Gina Whittaker, Tina Platt, Tracey Farmeary and daughter Natalie Farmeary securing match points.

Storr and Michelle Kelly doubled Sev’s tally in the pairs.

Edinburgh beat visitors Marcia ‘A’ by the same margin. Emma Frankland landed a 64 checkout, and Julie Stables, Anthea and Pat Jamieson added points before a clean sweep in the pairs saw them home.

Division two front runners Ox ‘A’ had Nella Majsterek, Nix Johnson, Abbie Scott and Anne Gibson putting them 4-2 up against a depleted Shoulder, Doreen Johnstone and Ann Parkyn replying.

Johnstone narrowed the gap with a single-handed pairs win but Majsterek-Gibson sealed victory.

Jubilee ‘A’ hold second place after a fightback at Leeman.

The pairing of Jackie Gray and Denise Pittock put the hosts 4-3 up but Brenda Dawe-Julie Oliver levelled and colleagues Sylvia Keenan-Laura Howard snatched victory.

Acomb lost ground, despite a 70 checkout from Lisa Benton. Kate Rankeillor had won the opener for Acomb before the wheels fell off - Marianne Deamer, Shelia Harrison, Linda Embleton, Sandra Pallister and Susan Barker sealing match points for visitors Burton WMC.

Sharon Nelson closed on 99 in the deciding pairs alongside Chris Patterson to secure a 5-4 comeback win for Saddle against visitors Green Tree. Tree had led 4-2.

Jubilee ‘B’ were likewise 4-2 ahead against visitors Clifton for whom Alice Turgoose and Angela Fletcher replied. Tracey Scurr-Maggie Bedingham secured victory for Jub, with Rosie Hattee-Emma Barker adding a point.
