CAROLE LAYNE inspired Tramways ‘A’ with a 23-dart leg as they raced into a match winning 5-1 advantage at York John Smith’s Ladies League division one hosts Severus ‘A’.

Sue Clark stopped the rot for Severus but Jo Hodges-Judy Hall and Sue Lowery-Jan Wilberham combined to see Ways take home a 7-2 win.

Leaders Fulfordgate were victors by the same margin against Severus 'B'. Amanda Britton led the way, and a clean sheet in the pairs kept them well ahead of the field. Angie Kaya and Michelle Kelly replied for the visitors.

Captain Faye Hawksby inspired Marcia ‘B’ as they took a 4-2 advantage into the pairs against their ‘A’ team, Ellen Platt and Di Moreland having replied.

Pat Cairns-Stacy Morris narrowed the gap but Linda Welch-Sue Smith then Joan Hunter-Anne Cornthwaite added points for the ‘B’ team.

Julie Stables, Emma Frankland, Chris Lamb, Anthea Jamieson led Edinburgh into the pairs with a healthy advantage at Tramways ‘B’, for whom Tracey Farmeary and Tina Platt responded. The same pair joined forces for Tramways' only other point as Jamieson-Frankland and Stables-Donna Lynes secured a 6-3 result.

Burnholme, who are joint-second with Tramways ‘A’, won 6-3 at Ox ‘B’ thanks to supremacy in the pairs.

Ox's Sandra Bruce hit two 140s for a 27-dart opening leg and Tracey Watkinson and Flossy Crampton also won at the individuals were tied at 3-3. For the clubside, Sarah Jackson scored well and Caroline Whittaker closed on 67.

Division two runaway leaders Ox ‘A’ stampeded into a 4-2 advantage at Green Tree, for whom Sonya Love and captain Alison Buckley scored their points.

Abbie Scott, Alison Walker, Nix Johnson, Linda Staveley starred for the visitors.

Jubilee ‘A’ bounced back after two bad results as Julie Oliver, Heather Bulmer and Louise Warren put them clear before Kath Powell and Julia Shaw troubling the scores for visitors Saddle.

Warren-Vicki Capes secured match points and Dawe-Bulmer added to Jub’s tally.

Jubilee ‘B’ matched their ‘A’ team's 6-3 scoreline as Kelly Williams, with a 56 checkout, Chris Peebles and Tracey Scurr sent them into the pairs all square at Burton WMC before Scurr-Peebles started Jub’s clean sweep thereafter.

For Burton, Sandra Pallister closed on 62.

Shoulder, despite being a player short again, put in an excellent performance to beat visitors Acomb 6-3, with Anita Adams, Hannah Smith, Doreen Johnstone, Sue Tate and, in the pairs, Johnstone-Tate sealing victory.

Jubilee ‘A’ are playing matches at Leeman and Jubilee ‘B’ will play home ties at Tramways WMC until further notice.# Crescent 'A' , meanwhile, went down 6-1 at home to The Ebor in division one of the York White Rose Ladies Darts League.

Ebor raced to victory by taking the first four games as Roz Kerr hit a 100 in tandem with Alice Paylor.

Milly Mountain was Crescent's only winner.

Bishothorpe took the first and last games at home to Crescent 'B', who were 5-2 winners.

Acomb Sport took only three players to Punch Bowl and lost the first five games in a 5-2 defeat.

Astrid Tute and Barbara O'Donnell took the last two.

In division two, Flag & Whistle were edged out 4-3 at home to New Earswick.

Janet Curry finished on 82, with treble eight, double 18, double 11, while Janice Turton had a 127.

King William lost 4-3 against New York having led 3-2, Rosie Blower and Den Fahey wrapping up the win.

Acomb Bowls went down 5-2 at home to Lord Collingwood.

Derwent Arms only had three players at home to Clarence, who ran out 6-1 winners as Diane Fenwick was the home side's only success.
