BURNHOLME captain Marj Pearson gamed in 23 darts as her side won 7-4 at Marcia 'B' to stay in touch with leaders Fulfordgate in York John Smith’s Ladies League division one.

After Pearson's opening leg, colleague Sharon Neads gave them a 2-0 advantage before Marcia's Faye Hawksby andChris Hayward levelled.

Jane Dobson edged the club side in front and, although Barbara Russell sent the sides into the pairs on level terms, Lynne Willstrop and Caroline Whittaker then Pearson and Neads sealed victory for the visitors.

Fulfordgate had Amanda Britton, Dawn Exton and mother and daughter Muriel and Michelle Britton putting them 4-2 up against Marcia 'A', Clair Cooper (26) and Di Moreland (25) winning for the visitors.

Exton and Jill Reed sealed the match points, before Cara Britton and grandmother Muriel and Michelle Britton and Lynn Thompson completed the rout.

Wendy Storr, Sharon Mountain, Dot Sellars hit the tons as Severus ‘B’ entertained visitors Ox ‘B’, for whom Sandra Bruce, Denice Fowler and Anne Bass levelled.

The pairing of Sellars and Linda Goldsmith edged the home side in front but a win from Bass and Fowler set up a decider which saw the visitors captain Maggie Tottie combine with Sue Tate to snatch victory.

Donna Lynes and Julie Stables were Edinburgh's only point scorers as visitors Severus ‘A’ put in a good all-round team performance for a 7-2 result.

In division two, Shoulder got off to a good start at Jubilee ‘A’, Vicky Sellers and mother Anita Adams opening with wins.

However, Louise Warren started a match-winning riposte. Julie Oliver, Brenda Dawe, Heather Bulmer chipped in and the pairing of Oliver and Laura Heward secured the win. Shoulder rallied to win the remaining legs.

Acomb's Sammy Benton was their only singles success as Kelly Williams, Anne Allinson, Maggie Bedingham, Emma Barker and Tracey Scurr secured match points for visitors Jubilee ‘B’.

Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ hung on to top spot with a 6-3 result against visitors Clifton, whose Brenda Dawe prevented a Ox full house in the singles as Caz Johnson secured match points.

Green Tree left it late against visitors Leeman, who had gone 4-3 up when captain Debbie Witts and Jackie Gray combined in the pairs.

Green Tree skipper captain Alison Buckley and Sandra Flintoft set up the decider which saw Tree's Lisa Russell and Sonya Love administer the final blow.
