SANDRA BRUCE starred for Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ as they went on a winning spree against their ‘A’ team in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Bruce notched a 21-dart game including two tons, while Linda Staveley was the ‘A’ team’s lone singles success.

The ‘A’ team battled back in the pairs through Alison Walker and Wendy Sullivan, then Nella Majsterek and Nix Johnson.

Captain Maggie Tottie was joined by ‘B’ team colleague Denise Fowler to improve their points deficit to 6-3.

Tramways ‘A’ had Jo Hodges gaming in 23 darts as they took a 4-2 advantage into the pairs at Burnholme, Jane Dobson and Sharon Neads scoring home team points.

Tramways ‘B’ made hay while their close rivals for honours, Fulfordgate, had a free week.

Jayne Janes, Natalie Farmeary, Bev Harton and captain Tracey Farmeary ensured Tramways reclaimed top spot and, with the season’s end in sight, the battle for the title looks like going to the wire.

Babs Harrison and Ann Anderson sealed victory for Marcia ‘A’ against visitors Edinburgh, who pushed them close.

Carol Robson, Sue Clark, Steph Barker (140) and Jackie Simpson put Severus ‘A’ in the driving seat against visitors Marcia ‘B’, whose captain Faye Hawksby had won the opening leg.

Colleague Barbara Russell narrowed the gap but, despite Russell and Sharon Rishworth winning the first pairs, Barker and Sue Richardson sealed victory.

Clark was joined by captain Glynnis Simpson to add to the club side’s tally.

The division two title race is going all the way after Acomb pulled closer to leaders Jubilee ‘A’, who had a free week.

Acomb had Rose Gray and Kate Rankeillor setting the pace, but Linda Embleton and Sheila Harrison levelled for visitors Burton WMC. Sammy and Lisa Benton sealed victory.

Bootham got back to winning ways to keep the leaders within striking distance as Jane Barnes and Pauline Welburn secured a narrow victory at Saddle.

Clifton entered the pairs on level terms with visitors Green Tree.

Karen Hodgson and Alice Turgoose gave the home team the advantage before Tree captain Alison Buckley and Margaret Forth set up a decider.

Clifton captain Cris Turgoose combined with Brenda Kellett to snatch match points.

Shoulder put up a brave fight despite being two players short as visitors Jubilee ‘B’ had last pairing Eileen How and Chris Peebles snatching match points.
