ANOTHER wrong turn undid Simon Dyson's drive for an opening day impact in the Tshwane Open in South Africa.

All was going swimmingly when he reached the turn at the Pretoria Country Club where two birdies on the first and eighth holes, despite sandwiching a dropped on shot on the sixth, had the world number 153 on course for a top 20 position.

But as has been the dismal case for most of this season, Dyson was to then register a six on his card.

This time a double-bogey on the par-four tenth initiated a mini-collapse of successive bogeys on 12 and 13.

Despite a birdie on the 15th, the 37-year-old also ceded a shot on the next hole to finish three-over-par, 14 shots off the lead held by Denmark's Morten Orum Madsen, and labouring among 11 other players in joint 122nd place.

Madsen picked up five shots in the last three holes including a hole in one, an eagle and a birdie.
