DOREEN JOHNSTONE fired a 98 checkout for a 26 dart leg as York John Smith's Ladies Darts League division two leaders Shoulder of Mutton thrashed Jubilee 'B'.

Sue Tate and Ann Parkyn gave Shoulder the edge before Anne Allinson replied. That was Jub's lone point as Elaine Metcalfe started the avalanche.

Second-placed Bootham Conservative Club were 7-2 winners over Saddle Fulford, as Julia Hagyard secured victory before the pairs.

Vicky McClaren and Sharon Nelson, the match's top scorer with two 125s and a 106, were Saddle's only points scorers.

Acomb kept the leaders within striking distance as they won 5-4 at Burton WMC, having recovered from a 3-0 deficit.

Linda Embleton, Sandra Pallistar and Susan Barker put Burton on top, but Acomb levelled through Sammie Endersby, Kate Rankeillor and Rose Gray.

Embleton and Lynn Bernhard edged Burton in front, but Acomb levelled through Endersby and Roz Richmond before Libby Rankeillor and Lisa Benton clinched the win.

Severus, whose star player was Wendy Storr, won two of the three pairs legs, but Tracey Farmeary and Jayne Janes added to Tramways' tally.

Sue Clark won the opener for Severus 'A' against Marcia 'B', but the hosts hit back through Faye Hawksby, Joan Hunter, Barbara Russell and Sharon Rishworth.

Steph Barker narrowed the gap, but a clean sweep in the pairs gave Marcia a 7-2 win.

Marcia 'A' were 6-3 winners at Edinburgh Arms after taking a 4-2 advantage into the pairs thanks to victories for Carol Perrett, Clair Cooper, Di Moreland and Stacy Morris. Amanda Bevan and Emma Frankland replied.

Morris and Ellen Platt sealed match points and Cooper and Perrett added to the score before Bevan and Emma Wheatley won a third point for Edinburgh.

Castle Howard Ox 'B' led their 'A' team 4-2 after the singles, but the 'A' ranks cleared up in the pairs, Alison Walker and Linda Staveley securing match points.

Jane Dobson closed 109 bull for Burnholme at Tramways 'A' to level the match heading into the pairs.

Carole Layne and Ruth Norman edged Tramways in front and Jo Hodges and Jan Wilberham clinched a 5-4 victory.
