NORTH Yorkshire Girls’ Centre of Excellence will host three guest speakers during their “Hat-trick of Festive Football Treats” event at York College on Saturday.

Taking place in the Sim Balk Lane site’s lecture theatre from 10am to 1pm, Dale Forsdyke, Adam Gledhill and Robert Vaughan will be discussing methods of developing players’ productivity and positivity. Forsdyke is a senior lecturer in sports injury management at York St John University and is also head of science and medicine at the North Yorkshire Girls’ Centre of Excellence.

He has additional experience as a head sports therapist in the Women’s Super League and his talk will be based on the “24-Hour Clock” and how preparation is vital to performance.

Gledhill is the senior lecturer in sport and exercise therapy at Leeds Beckett University, whose previous work has included a head of sports science role within the WSL.

He has also presented his football research at world and European congresses of sport psychology and his session will focus on “The Car Journey” and the implications of positive-thought patterning.

Vaughan is a lecturer in psychology at York St John University’s department of health and life sciences. He has also worked at the University of Ulster and Newman University of Birmingham in both lecturing and research roles.

Additional experience has seen him work as a personal trainer and coach in football, rugby and Gaelic sports and he will be focusing on “Coaching Intelligence in Footballers”.
