City of York Athletic Club sprinter Tom Somers
CITY of York Athletic Club sprint star Tom Somers broke the British under-20s indoor 300 metre record at the Northern Athletics Indoor Open in Sheffield.
The 17-year-old Queen Ethelburga's student clocked 33.44 seconds to lower the British best by three-tenths of a second at the English Institute of Sport.
Yearsley-based Somers, a member of the British Athletics Futures Programme, ran the 300 metres in 33.73 seconds at the same meeting last year.
