CITY of York Ladies Hockey Club first team remain locked in mid-table of the North League premier division after a dismal away-day.

The York ranks were beaten 3-0 by Brooklands Poynton II.

City of York III, however, were 4-1 winners at Acomb in division two.

It took only two minutes for Kelly Hunter to open the scoring, while player of the match Katie Wilson and Sarah Boorman created a host of opportunities down the right wing.

Fay Chapman added two goals to the tally before a lapse of concentration saw the hosts pull a goal back, while Liz Armitage added a fourth.

In division four, City of York IV beat visiting Driffield III 6-0 with goals from Ginette Skelton, Lynn Bowes, Rebecca Kearney and Wendy Harrington, plus two from Rachel Witherick.

That scoreline was matched by City of York V in division seven north at Halifax IV thanks to a hat-trick from Lily Rowntree and further goals by Charlotte Mattock, Mimi Hou and Karis Hayes.

City of York VI lost 2-0 against Selby II, who bagged a goal in each half. York's player of the match was Helen Miller.
