ALL-CONQUERING York Phoenix enjoyed a one-two-three at the 2014 Rock-it-Ball Singles' World Cup.

Jack Brown became the sport's new world champion with team-mates Carl Alsop and Scott Snowden joining him on the podium.

The event attracted entries from Uganda, USA and Denmark, as well as England and Scotland, making the York trio's success all the more impressive.

Brown started his path to victory with a 167-81 triumph over Liam Leckenby, who was the youngest contestant in the senior section.

He then disposed of Scotland's Scott MacMichael - the 2011 champion and 2012 runner-up - 107-87.

Last year's beaten finalist Snowdon was defeated next 119-93 before Brown saw off former world youth champion Meghan Plummer 126-89.

Alsop, the first-ever world champion in 2010, lay waiting in the final, but Brown built on a 44-37 lead to run out the 101-80 winner.

He also completed a family double with brother Tom having clinched the world youth title for a second time.

Elsewhere, rising Easi-RockIts star Hannah Smith enjoyed several excellent results against international players who were preparing for the Youth World Cup.

Smith, at the tender age of 12, drew with African Nations' champion Malingha Timothy and then only lost by eight points to defending champion Tom Hildreth.

She also beat Paul Hildreth, her coach, by three points and drew with Navy representative Dan Raper before defeating Denmark's number one Matti Chasen Bergstein by a full ten points.
