Warnock wants McCormack stay to stay at Leeds

LEEDS United manager Neil Warnock is determined to hang on to last season’s top scorer Ross McCormack.

While allowing clubs to talk to striker Billy Paynter – Doncaster Rovers and Blackpool are vying for his services – Warnock insists he does not want McCormack, who scored both goals in the recent 2-1 pre-season win at Torquay United, to go.

Said Warnock: “A couple of clubs have asked about taking him, but I don’t want to let him go unless there is a player exchange. I’d rather keep him and Ross knows that.

“I think we have to play it by ear. If he starts enjoying himself which he seems to be, we'll have to see how it goes.”
