LEEDS United have confirmed the signing of young midfielder Jordan Stevens for an undisclosed fee from League Two side Forest Green Rovers.

The 17-year-old has penned an initial deal until the summer of 2020, having made 15 appearances since making his senior debut for Rovers against Lincoln last year.

Stevens will initially link up with Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side.

Meanwhile, United have confirmed the departure of Eoghan Stokes after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Stokes made one first-team appearance in the 5-1 victory over Newport County last August.

Having not won since Boxing Day, tenth-placed Leeds are aiming for their first victory in six matches on Saturday when Cardiff City visit Elland Road.

United have been boosted by the arrival of teenage forward Tyler Roberts from West Brom but their Welsh visitors will prove tough opponents in a fixture which sees the return of Neil Warnock.

The former Whites boss has guided Cardiff into fourth spot.
