RESURGENT Leeds United head for Blackpool on Saturday (3pm) having stormed back into the top half of the Sky Bet Championship.

The Whites are unbeaten in March and claimed a third consecutive clean sheet as they beat Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

That stunning success followed wins over Ipswich and Wigan and a goalless draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

Fulham wasted a host of opportunities while Leeds scored with their only three genuine chances through York’s Sam Byram, Sol Bamba and Mirco Antenucci.

Former Elland Road strike duo Ross McCormack and Matt Smith spurned openings before Byram’s 40th-minute header.

Three minutes after the interval Bamba’s header made it 2-0 and substitute Antenucci scuffed in Leeds’ third in the 88th minute.

Byram said: “I’m always looking to get on the scoresheet and help the team out.

“We’re a lot more solid as a team now. The fans can see that we’re staying in games.

“I think we’re harder to play against and we’re also creating the chances and putting them away at the same time.

“It’s an important three points for us. It keeps our run going and we’ll take it into tomorrow’s game.”

United boss Neil Redfearn said: “In the first half Fulham were the better side and we were having to dig deep to stay with them.

“They got a rollicking at half-time. But we worked hard, toughed it out and although we got the goal against the run of play I thought we got on top of it.

“Our keeper made two or three outstanding saves at 0-0, which kept us in the game, and I think it could have been four or five in the end.”
