FAN power is spurring Leeds United to make a success of their Sky Bet Championship campaign.

The Whites go hunting a second successive Elland Road victory when Brighton visit tonight, after they got off the mark with a 1-0 home victory over Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Manager David Hockaday hailed the result as just reward for the club’s loyal supporters, while match-winner Billy Sharp paid tribute to United’s “amazing” following.

Hockaday said: “I want to sample a few more of those moments. If we work hard and if we stick together I know the fans will have that.”

Sharp, who scored the winner in the 88th minute of his debut, added: “This is a superb club and the fans are obviously amazing. They made a big cheer when I scored and I just wanted to show them how delighted I was.”

Guiseppe Bellusci, recruited from Catania on a season-long loan last week, did not get international clearance in time to face Boro, but should be available to face the Seagulls.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has parted company with the Whites by mutual consent.
