LEEDS United’s new recruit, Lithuanian international Marius Zaliukas, is on standby for a debut against Elland Road visitors Yeovil Town tomorrow.

The former Hearts skipper has signed until the end of the season and will be available for selection for the Sky Bet Championship clash.

Said Zaliukas: “My aim is to get in the first team and play a lot of games. I’m not looking too far into the future though. I am happy that I have signed and I am going to do my best.”

He added: “Everyone here is stronger and faster than in Scotland so it is more fun.”

Currently lying tenth, Leeds need to quickly get last week’s West Yorkshire derby out of their heads after they finished on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller at Huddersfield Town.

Yeovil, meanwhile, shook off their struggles to adapt to life in the Championship, by beating promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest 3-1.
