Aviva strengthened their hold on pole position in York Minster Engineering Football League division two with a 6-3 win over Osbaldwick.
Warren Lowe and Adam Osgudthorpe scored two apiece and there was also one goal each for Neil Richardson and Geoff Pinkney. The O’s replied through Chris Bilton (2) and Sam Thompson.
Aviva’s two closest challengers slipped up for the second week running.
Second-placed Stamford Bridge were undone by a Mike Pipe hat-trick at Strensall, going down 4-1, while third-placed Cliffe suffered their first away defeat of the season as they lost 3-2 at Huby.
Richard Wilsden gave Huby an early lead but goals from Adam Durnin and Chris Harkin turned the game in Cliffe’s favour.
However, Gary Turgoose levelled for Huby before Paul Holmes secured a first home win in seven games with the winner six minutes from time. White Horse Church Fenton are now looking like the main rivals to the insurance men as they have games in hand and remain unbeaten after a 4-0 win over Rawcliffe with goals from John Marshall (2), Jake Longstaff and Laurie McCraie.
Crayke lost 6-2 to Heslington.
Chris Browne and Adam Dixon netted for Crayke, but they were outdone by Heslington’s Dave Ingle, John Pipes, Jake Moyes, Stuart Dickenson (2) and Alex Sutherland.
