Body And Soul is napped to hit the jackpot for a second time in less than six weeks at York tomorrow.

The North Yorkshire filly, shrewdly snapped up by Tim Easterby for only £7,500 as a yearling last autumn, last month gained her third win from four starts when scooping a first prize of £122,925 in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury.

Tomorrow on Knavesmire, she lines up for the DBS Premier Yearling Stakes, which carries a winning purse of £142,622, and is strongly fancied to make a bold bid in the hands of David Allan.

Even before she’d ever appeared on a racecourse, Easterby was of the opinion that Body And Soul was something special. Although beaten by a combination of factors on her debut at Nottingham, she has not put a foot wrong since, winning at Ripon and Thirsk before her richly-endowed Newbury success under a light weight.

She will need to raise her game again tomorrow against the likes of Annunciation, Hototo (much better off at the weights compared to Newbury where he finished sixth) and Blessington, but Body And Soul has the scope for further improvement and is highly regarded in Easterby’s Great Habton yard.

John Gosden looks set for a hugely profitable afternoon.

The Newmarket trainer, who has incredible strength in depth in his Newmarket yard, can complete a big-race double with Newfangled and The Fugue.

Unbeaten in two starts, Newfangled was very impressive when running away with the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. She looks sure to be the one they all have to beat in the Jaguar Cars Lowther Stakes, a Group 2 event over six furlongs.

The Fugue runs in the £310,000 Darley Yorkshire Oaks, the richest race on the card, and is selected to gain her second York success of the campaign.

Winner of the Musidora Stakes on the course in May, she looked an unlucky loser of the Oaks at Epsom, finishing third after a troublesome passage, before running slightly below-par at Royal Ascot in the Coronation Stakes.

She has bounced right back since and her latest performance when beating older rivals in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood last month was a top-drawer display.

William Buick, Gosden’s excellent number one rider, rides both Newfangled and The Fugue.

On what promises to be a superb day of racing on day two of the Ebor Festival , what could be better than for the Queen to have a winner? That may well arrive in the shape of Sequence, who carries the Royal colours in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing Galtres Stakes.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old has made giant strides recently, winning an average handicap at Thirsk and following up by nine lengths at Newmarket. She is expected to go well under Ryan Moore.

Paul Hanagan, three-times leading rider on this course, can figure on the scoresheet aboard Kahruman in the Betfair Don’t Settle For Less Handicap.

Trained by William Haggas, the lightly-raced three-year-old ran a blinder at Royal Ascot in the Britannia Handicap to finish sixth in a huge field. That was only his fourth start and he is open to further improvement.

The concluding eventmasters.co.uk Fillies’ Handicap could well have a North Yorkshire winner in the shape of Shesastar, trained by David Barron, who won the same race 12 months ago.

She has been running well lately for her astute Thirsk handler, who, on Friday, saddles his highly-rated sprinter Pearl Secret in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.
