Moheebb tipped to add to Stillington trainer’s win tally

Stillington trainer Ruth Carr, who pulled off a one-two at Thirsk on Saturday with Orpsie Boy and Klynch, can take the feature honours at Beverley today.

Carr runs Moheebb in the Petwise Zoo In The Course Enclosure Handicap and James Sullivan’s mount is entitled to take all the beating.

On his latest start at Ripon recently, Moheebb finished third to Memory Cloth, who franked the form by finishing an excellent second in a competitive handicap at Newmarket on Saturday.

Moheebb would hardly need to raise his game on his latest performance to take top spot.

Lincoln-winning jockey Tony Hamilton has good prospects of winning the Westwood Handicap on Ailsa Craig, who carries the nap vote.

The Edwin Tuer-trained mare made a fine start to the season when finishing second to Tres Coronas at Newcastle. A former winner over this course and distance, she can come out on top this time.

Paul Midgley’s Middleton Flyer, a respectable third at Nottingham a couple of weeks ago, should go well in the Mayday Raceday Handicap, while Mark Johnston’s Party Line, beaten in a photo-finish at Leicester last month on his first outing of the season, looks up to carrying top weight in the Picnic, Punters And Posh Packages Handicap.

At Catterick tomorrow evening, Prince James has good prospects on behalf of Mick Easterby.

The Sheriff Hutton gelding came good on this course last time out in an apprentices’ race over six furlongs. The slight worry is the drop back to five furlongs, but he is a previous winner at the minimum trip and, clearly in good form, he should give a good account of himself.

Ollie Pears ended a frustrating losing spell with Noodles Blue Boy at Thirsk on Saturday. The Norton trainer can add to his tally with Throwing Roses in the Follow Us On Twitter @Catterickraces Maiden Auction Stakes.

The juvenile failed by a short head to make a winning debut at Ripon recently. Provided this race does not come too quickly, Throwing Roses is fancied to go one better.

It is anyone’s guess how fit Green Howard will be for his seasonal debut in the yorkshire-outdoors.co.uk Handicap, but trainer Robin Bastiman sent out a winner at Musselburgh last week with a horse seemingly returning from its winter break.

Green Howard looks a horse to follow this season. He came strongly to the fore last term, winning three of his last four starts and looks capable of further improvement as a four-year-old. Danny Tudhope rides.

Graham Lee has already made his mark since recently switching codes from National Hunt racing and the Grand National-winning jockey has every chance of adding to his tally aboard Ministerofinterior in the Go Racing In Yorkshire Handicap.

Richard Ford’s stayer will relish every yard of this two miles and is napped to win.
