Hambleton trainer Bryan Smart is set to be doubly-represented as he goes for a jackpot prize in the feature race at Newbury tomorrow.

Smart is set to saddle Ice Mountain and Avertuoso in the £135,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint. Both horses are in winning form and have solid chances.

My preference is for Ice Mountain, who was hugely impressive at Beverley earlier this week when winning by five lengths in the style of a high-class horse in the making.

Avertuoso won last Saturday's nursery handicap at York with a good display of sprinting.

At Ripon tomorrow, Nelsons Column should not be overlooked in the £12,500 Bishopton Handicap.

Trained by George Moore at Middleham, the three-year-old, who lost an eye as a foal, produced a game performance to win at Beverley on his latest start. That came on the back of some good efforts in defeat and he is fancied to follow up.

The Ripon Bell-Ringer Handicap looks a good opportunity for New Guinea to land a decent prize.

Michael Jarvis's progressive three-year-old, an easy winner on the sand on his latest outing, looks nicely weighted in this 12-furlong handicap.

Counterfactual has shown enough ability in his two starts to suggest he is not without a chance in the Birchall Catering Supplies Maiden Stakes.
