SAINTED can make a swift return to action pay dividends in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap at Haydock.

William Haggas' charge ran at Goodwood last week when she finished sixth of 10 runners in a Group Three heat over seven furlongs.

The four-year-old's placing does not quite tell the whole story though as she was only beaten just over three lengths despite taking a keen hold from the off before suffering an impeded passage over a furlong out.

Those two factors make her performance pretty eyecatching on reflection and given she had previously scored with the minimum of fuss in a York handicap on her return at the beginning of July, Sainted clearly knows how to get her head in front.

This class two event obviously represents an easier task than last week's Goodwood heat and while it must be taken on trust that she can bounce back quickly from that effort, Sainted could be a cut above her rivals here.

Prendergast Hill has been thoroughly consistent so far this term and can gain a richly deserved victory in the Marathonbet Sportsbook Brighton Challenge Cup Handicap at the seaside venue.

The five-year-old has not finished out of the first three in five starts for Ed de Giles so far this term, most recently being edged out by half a length at Doncaster last month.

The winner that day was landing a gamble and given Prendergast Hill took it up some way from home, he deserves plenty of credit for losing out in the shadow of the post.

The handicapper has left him on a mark of 80 and given he won off 2lb higher last year, that mark certainly appears to remain competitive.

Dubawi Prince has not been seen since lining up in what has transpired to be a pretty hot conditions heat at Newbury back in April, so he is definitely one to note at Sandown.

Winner of a Doncaster maiden on his seasonal bow in early April, Roger Varian then sent the Dubawi colt to Berkshire, where he lined up in a race won by Shutter Speed.

That filly has gone on to win the Musidora while second Raheen House is a major St Leger contender and the third home, Enable, has two Oaks and a King George under her belt now.

Dubawi Prince tried to do it from the front that day, but given the calibre of those three horses, it is little surprise he paid for his early efforts and dropped out to finish last of six.

Varian has given him plenty of time to bounce back from that defeat and while the Fizz Fridays At Slug And Lettuce Handicap will certainly not be a penalty kick, his Voltigeur and St Leger entries suggest Dubawi Prince is still giving plenty of cause for hope at home.

High On Love can take a starring role at Yarmouth by landing the John Batt 70th Birthday Fillies' Handicap.

Charlie Fellows' runner was tried in some excellent company as a juvenile after winning at the second attempt at Windsor last May.

Although she could not make her mark at Royal Ascot or in Listed company, High On Love was not disgraced but it did appear as though she had perhaps not quite trained on when disappointing on her seasonal return in June.

However, she banished that notion when second at Windsor last month and now she is back in the groove, it would be no surprise to see High On Love start to kick on again now.

Insurgence ran as his 50-1 tag suggested he would on his bow at Newmarket last month but he should not be totally written off in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes.

Clearly not as competitive as event as at Headquarters, Insurgence should have learnt a bit for the experience and can put up an improved show this time.
