JACK JORDAN and Joe Wright were the ones in form at the York and Ainsty Point-to-Point meeting at Easingwold.

The pair both rode doubles on the seven-race card, with Jordan taking home the leading rider award.

He started his first-ever double in the Club Members Conditions race aboard Mickey Miller, a horse he previously owned and trained.

They led into the home straight and held off Seeyouincourt and Jack Andrews, who is currently second to Jordan in the Novice Title leaderboard.

Mickey Miller is now trained by John Dawson, for whom Jordan was making his debut. "It looks like he goes on any ground and he's improving," said the rider. "I'm hugely grateful to Mickey’s new owners for letting me keep the ride and I'm delighted he's gone to a great new home with John."

Jordan quickly got his second win aboard the Caroline Hardie-trained Milan Day in the Open Maiden.

The pair held a strong advantage on the turn for home and stayed on stoutly to fend off Be A Dreamer and David Coates, who continues to seek that elusive victory since coming out of retirement.

It was the winner's fourth career start. Jordan said: "He hasn't shown much in his previous runs but the Hardies had plenty of confidence in the horse."

Wright began his double in the Hunt Members race aboard the Alison Christmas-trained Carlos Gardel.

The pair disputed the lead most of the way with Dead Ringa and Will Milburn before pulling clear four from home to win by 12 lengths.

Dead Ringa, 12, who has five victories to his name, two in this race, has now been retired.

Wright completed his double with Levelling in the Restricted race - extending trainer Justin Landy's superb record in point-to-points.

A former hurdler who was purchased from Doncaster sales for £3,000, Levelling made it two from two between the flags when breaking clear of Bentons Lad on the downhill run to home.

Rumble of Thunder was a popular winner of the Ladies' Open under Alice Dawson, easing clear after the last to effortlessly net a third victory over term by six lengths.

The eventful Men's Open saw fancied pair Strongpoint and Sposalizio set the early pace. But this set the race up for Rosie Du Berlais under a patient ride from Christy Furness, the pair staying on up the straight to win narrowly from Locked Inthepocket in second and Mistissio in third.

Rosie Du Berlais, 11, trained by Paul Frank, had been struggling to land a blow this season. Furness said: "It's great to see her come back to form, the track and ground brought out the best in her."

The younger maiden was the four, five and six-year-old Open Maiden and the five runners provided an exciting finish, Sam's Treasure, ridden by John Dawson, beating Artisan Man to deny jockey Jordan a treble.

Sam's Treasure is the first foal out of the multiple winning pointer and Grimthorpe Gold Cup winner Poppy Day.

The next Yorkshire Point-to-Point fixtures are the Pendle Forest & Craven at Heslaker on Saturday and the Zetland at Witton Castle on Bank Holiday Monday.
