QUIET Reflection's seasonal re-appearance in the Group 2 Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes is set to be one of the highlights of next month's Dante Festival at York racecourse.

The sprint queen, owned by the Ontoawinner syndicate and trained in North Yorkshire by Karl Burke, won two Group 1 races last season - the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and the Sprint Cup at Haydock Park - and also landed the Cartier Sprinter Award.

The Duke of York Stakes, which is now worth £125,000, will be the six-furlong showpiece of York's opening meeting of the Flat season on Wednesday May 17.

Last year’s winner, Magical Memory, is also among the 36 entries for the race along with Aidan O'Brien's unbeaten Caravaggio and The Tin Man, who took the QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes.

Commenting on Quiet Reflection's fitness, Burke says: "She has wintered brilliantly. We are really pleased with her. We are just starting to pick up the speed in her work now and she should be fully fit the first week of May with the intention of either going for the Duke of York or possibly the Temple Stakes (at Haydock).

“Hopefully the ground will be decent at York and we can go there," he added. "I just wouldn’t want to run her on real fast ground."

The Dante Festival lasts for three days between May 17-19 and also features the Betfred Dante Stakes, the Betfred Middleton Stakes, and the Betway Yorkshire Cup.
