TWIN Point kicked off 2017 with victory at Kempton earlier this month and he can follow up in the Sunbets.co.uk Handicap at Lingfield.

The six-year-old has been pretty consistent over the last year or so, clocking up three wins and a string of places for trainer Charlie Fellowes.

He struck gold in August last year before notching another four runs which yielded just one disappointing effort last October.

That consistency means his mark has hardly wavered until his half-length triumph at Kempton, for which he has been hiked 4lb.

That rise may not be enough to stop Twin Point, though, as while he probably only beat an average bunch of rivals, he did it from the front again and showed plenty of guts to prevail.

Casablanca is worth giving another chance in the Betway-sponsored maiden.

She has yet to hit the mark in eight starts and is clearly no world-beater, but she probably would not have to be too good to win this.

Andrew Balding’s charge just seems to lack a bit of toe when it matters, but she should be in the mix once again.

Gilgamesh can shrug off a lengthy period on the sidelines by lifting the 32Red.com Handicap at Wolverhampton.

The Niarchos family’s homebred did not promise much when well beaten as a 33-1 shot at Newmarket last July but he made a massive step forward for that outing when landing a Nottingham maiden event the following month.

He put up a thoroughly professional performance that day, picking up the lead inside the final furlong before pushing on for a three-quarter-length verdict.

Things have clearly not gone all to plan as Gilgamesh has been off the track since then, but a mark of 79 certainly gives George Scott a bit to work with.

Jet Setter made a reasonable debut for Tony Carroll with fourth place last time, and he can step up on that effort for his new team in the 32Red.com-sponsored handicap.

The three-year-old, who was previously with Brian Meehan, has yet to hit the target in 10 starts but he shaped as though a small event like this could be within his reach when beaten two and a quarter lengths last time.

Abracadabra Sivola can give David Pipe a nice success at his local track by lifting Exeter’s Higos Insurance Services Devon National Handicap Chase.

He took a step forward when upped in trip to three and a quarter miles at Wincanton in January, chasing home five-times winner Alfie Spinner.

Dropped back to just short of three miles last time though, he showed plenty of stamina when outgalloping his rivals to claim a two-and-a-half-length verdict at Taunton.

He takes a massive jump up in distance this time, but staying seemed his likely forte at Wincanton so he is worth a shout.

Wild West Wind is entered for the National Hunt Chase at the Festival and a win in the Andrew West Memorial Chase would surely see him on his way to the Cotswolds in three weeks’ time.

He has won each of his two chase starts this term, opening with a wide-margin success at Wincanton in January before following up at Hereford earlier this month.

The first two finished well clear of the rest that day as Wild West Wind made light of a 12lb hike and he looks a thoroughly progressive individual.

Ballygarvey is the pick in the 188Bet Budbrooke Handicap Chase at Warwick.

He was rated as high as 139 back in 2015, but has suffered his problems in the interim and has now slid back down to what appears to be a very workable perch of 121.

He disappointed when pulled up at Wincanton last time but he could have suffered a bit of the bounce factor as that was just his second run back after a prolonged absence.

He had shaped well enough when third on his actual return, so it may be a bit early to give up on Ballygarvey.
