AMONG ANGELS can reverse recent form with Call Out Loud and snap a losing streak that covers the best part of two years by lifting the Betway Handicap at Southwell.

The five-year-old has not got his head in front since April 2015 but has shaped with plenty of promise since kicking off his winter campaign at Newcastle before Christmas.

Third on that occasion, Among Angels could not really capitalise when upped to seven furlongs next time but, switched back to six at this track just over a week ago, Daniel Loughnane's charge just fell short at the line.

Beaten a head by Call Out Loud, Among Angels again concedes weight to the winner but is better off this time and should be able to turn around that verdict, particularly as he sticks at a favoured sprint trip. Dale Swift rides today's nap selection.

WARM WORDS had to settle for second at the Nottinghamshire circuit last time out but can go one place better in the sunbets.co.uk Maiden Handicap under Tom Marquand.

The daughter of Poet's Voice finished fifth in each of her first three starts but seemed to improve a bit for tackling the Fibresand surface at the beginning of December.

Trying a mile for the first time that day, Warm Words was to the fore throughout but eventually had to settle for second, being beaten just half a length.

Trainer Ralph Beckett's decision to keep to the same course and distance certainly appears to make sense on the basis of that performance – and while a 6lb hike in the meantime is hardly ideal, the form of that event is certainly reasonable.

SERENADE THE STARS hails from a solid black-type family, so something like the Bet totequadpot At betfred.com Handicap at Chelmsford's evening meeting really should be well within his compass.

A short-head second at Wolverhampton on handicap bow suggests James Tate has found his level now and Serenade The Stars can make hay in this grade, with Martin Harley on board today.

MORNEY WING can add to his Plumpton triumph earlier in the month by lifting the Higos Insurance Services Somerset National at Wincanton.

Charlie Mann immediately set his sights on this event after his eight-year-old powered to victory in the Sussex National on his most recent start.

While his Plumpton success was something of a surprise at odds of 12-1, he did have some nice bits of form in the book already this season, most notably when finishing third behind Rocky Creek in the London National at Sandown in December.

The winner was particularly well rated at the time, so Morney Wing deserved plenty of credit for going down by just under three lengths after a mistake two out took its toll.

He made amends in style at Plumpton, though, coming home a length and three-quarters clear but looking excellent value for that winning distance.

A 5lb hike in the weights does not look unreasonable and Morney Wing should thrive for another marathon trip, with Noel Fehily on the reins.

KENTFORD MYTH, ridden by Daniel Sansom, is the pick in the mares' handicap chase after striking gold in some style at this track on Boxing Day.

Her jumping was far from perfect on that occasion but she still had enough in the tank to win by seven lengths on what was her chasing bow.

It would be fair to expect some improvement on the fencing front with another month on the schooling grounds under her belt.

STILL BELIEVING was a 10-length winner at Cheltenham before Christmas and it is hard to ignore her claims at Ludlow.

A strong pace at Prestbury Park seemingly brought out the best in her and her 10-length victory was certainly eye-catching.

A 10lb rise has followed but she is a multiple winner at Ludlow and can thrive for her return to the Shropshire venue under Conor Orr.
