CHARISMATIC MAN can take another step up in trip in his stride by winning the Betway App Handicap as today's nap selection at Lingfield.

The Dalakhani gelding started life with Alain de Royer-Dupre in France but, after failing to show much promise in two starts last term, he was transferred to the care of Ralph Beckett in Britain.

Charismatic Man, who is a full-brother to 2011 French Derby hero Reliable Man, shaped with real promise on his British debut at Chelmsford back in September but something was clearly amiss when he disappointed the following month at Newmarket.

Beckett let him get over whatever that problem was before setting his sights on a 12-furlong heat at Wolverhampton at the end of November, where Charismatic Man rose to the challenge and finally got his head in front.

His stout pedigree firmly suggested a switch to middle distances would be to his advantage and a further hike to a mile and seven furlongs should still be within his remit, judged on the ease of his victory and the manner in which he stayed on right to the line. Richard Kingscote takes the reins.

GUNG HO JACK, ridden by Kieren Fox, can score his first victory since April 2015 in the closing Betway Handicap.

That may not sound like the most encouraging form but Gung Ho Jack was actually off the track for the best part of a year during that time, although he seems to have retained plenty of ability on his return.

Placed on each of his five starts since coming back, Gung Ho Jack has been steadily creeping up the weights but his most recent second at Lingfield is all the meritorious as it transpired he had bled from the nose during the race.

NUNCIO can make his mark as he moves out of maiden company in the 32Red Casino EBF Nursery Handicap under George Baker.

He failed to set the world alight in three maiden outings, with his fourth place at Kempton last month representing his most notable effort. He ran well enough to suggest trainer Roger Charlton's decision to go handicapping should pay dividends.

MASTER DEE can cash in on the unseasonally quick ground to continue his winning ways in the Great Glen Novices' Chase at Leicester.

Trainer Fergal O'Brien will be as surprised as he is pleased that conditions at the East Midlands venue will favour his seven-year-old.

Master Dee had a race in every month from April to October, winning three of his eight starts and being placed in the rest.

His last success came at Ascot at the end of the October, when he made all to defeat San Benedeto by three-quarters of a length over two miles and three furlongs.

With only an extra furlong to travel, Master Dee should be hard to peg back in this small field with Paddy Brennan on board.

FATTSOTA is a late addition to the National Hunt ranks but he is the one to follow in division one of the opening Watch On 3 Devices racinguk.com/anywhere Maiden Hurdle at Catterick.

The eight-year-old was a classy performer on the Flat for Marco Botti before being sold for 20,000 guineas last autumn to David O'Meara.

The trainer could not quite rekindle Fattsota's best on the level but his hurdles debut resulted in a promising third behind Sumkindofking, who has slightly let the form down since.

Time is now obviously against Fattsota and while he may not turn into a jumps star, he looks good enough for a race like this under Brian Hughes.
