DANZENO should be afforded one last chance as he takes a further dip in company for the totepoolliveinfo.com/British Stallion Studs EBF Conditions Stakes at Hamilton.

Michael Appleby's charge has become a bit disappointing of late, having seemingly declined from a Group One contender into a horse who has just failed to strike at Listed level on two recent occasions.

However, it could be dangerous to write off the five-year-old as he also endured a minor mid-season drop off in 2015 before roaring back to his best in the autumn when he claimed a fine third in the British Champions Sprint at Ascot.

Danzeno's initial third in the Duke of York Stakes was followed by a narrow defeat at the hands of Don't Touch in a Salisbury Listed heat which prompted connections to allow him a shot at the July Cup, where he was not totally disgraced in ninth.

On the basis of that run he was reasonably well fancied at Chester, but could finish only second in a race that wasn't really run to suit.

Any chance he had in the Nunthorpe was compromised by a slow start and he again was tardy out of the stalls when only second as the evens favourite in a Listed run at York.

Appleby switches down another level in search of a confidence-boosting success and as he has upwards of 4lb in hand of his rivals, this really should be his for the taking.

Spring Jig can make if fourth time lucky in the Dribuild Group Maiden Stakes at Bath.

The two-year-old has clearly shown plenty of stamina from an early stage as Hugo Palmer pitched him in over seven furlongs on his debut back in July, when he finished third, before promptly stepping him up a mile the following month.

He was probably a bit of a let down on that occasion as he could finish only fourth of five runners but another step up to 10 furlongs last time out saw the son of Spring At Last show some welcome improvement.

Spring Jig saw out the trip well and was only beaten a neck at Kempton, looking as though he could really make his mark in handicap company in due course.

Palmer clearly thinks a maiden win is within his grasp as he perseveres and the hint should be taken.

Cheltenham Festival winner Next Sensation is an interesting contender in the At The Races Sky 415 Handicap Chase at Newton Abbot.

Michael Scudamore's charge won the 2015 Grand Annual Chase but has not actually managed to get his head in front since that success.

However, he has been pretty highly tried in the likes of the Paddy Power Gold Cup and last season's Grand Annual so it is understandable if he failed to really fire off his augmented mark.

His lack of success has seen him slide back down the ratings and now off a mark of 129, he might have fallen far off to get back on the winning trail.
