PALLASATOR can spring a huge surprise by claiming the Gold Cup In Honour of The Queen's 90th Birthday, the highlight on day three of Royal Ascot.

Aidan O'Brien's Order Of St George is a short price to build on the promise he has shown so far – but having run over no further than a mile and six furlongs, the step up to two and a half miles on testing ground is a huge question mark.

In contrast, the Sir Mark Prescott-trained Pallasator has won over two and a quarter miles and has shown an aptitude for soft conditions having won on heavy at Haydock, where the ground is certainly searching when wet.

Pallasator looked to be a horse on the up in 2014 but he was a bit disappointing last term before finally coming good with a comfortable three-quarter-length success in the Doncaster Cup in September.

He met with trouble in running in his final start of the year in the Long Distance Cup at this track, finishing behind the reopposing Flying Officer and Clever Cookie after being checked in his challenge with a couple of furlongs to run.

Pallasator would have finished closer but for his impeded passage and showed he had not gone backwards from that when beating Suegioo, Max Dynamite and Burmese on his return in the Henry II Stakes at Sandown last month.

The Motivator gelding was conceding weight all round but won with the minimum of fuss by two and a quarter lengths without Oisin Murphy, who is on board again today, having to go for top gear.

Prescott admits the main concern for Pallasator will be the preliminaries, as he does tend to get worked up before the off and has his quirks – but if he can keep his cool, today's nap selection could outrun his odds and serve it up to the favourite.

ARCHITECTURE, ridden by Frankie Dettori, brings quality form to the table in the Ribblesdale Stakes after chasing home Minding in the Oaks at Epsom earlier this month.

Hugo Palmer's charge has just a maiden win to her credit so far but, after finishing second in the Oaks Trial at Lingfield in May, connections decided to have a crack at the main event and that decision only just failed to pay off.

She may have been slightly flattered by the official margin of a length and three-quarters – but nevertheless she gave Minding a major fright and thoroughly deserves to take a leading role once more.

Architecture was eight lengths clear of the rest at Epsom and her rating of 114 puts her upwards of 13lb better than the opposition.

Kieren Fallon can secure an increasingly rare Royal meeting winner as BLUE DE VEGA holds excellent claims in the Tercentenary Stakes.

The rider has partnered 30 winners in total at the showpiece fixture and the Michael O'Callaghan-trained Blue De Vega can augment that tally as he steps up to 10 furlongs for the first time.

His near-seven-length defeat in the Irish 2,000 Guineas was no disgrace and, while the ground might not be ideal, he looks likely to improve again going up in distance.

It could be dangerous to ignore PEACE ENVOY and jockey Ryan Moore in the opening Norfolk Stakes after winning two of his three starts for Aidan O'Brien.

A winner on his Dundalk debut, he suffered a surprise reverse at the Curragh before getting his campaign firmly back on track with a Listed win at Naas last month.

He won despite his evident greenness as he ducked left and collided with a rail a furlong out, so Peace Envoy must surely be a little better than the bare form suggests at this stage.

MUSTASHRY has been the subject of some positive gallops reports and his six-length maiden win at Thirsk last time out marked him as one to the follow in the Britannia Stakes.

LOVELL is a similarly promising individual in the closing King George V Stakes after his second place in a Sandown handicap back in April.

He ran subsequent Craven winner Stormy Antarctic to a couple of lengths as a juvenile and could have the requisite touch of class needed to claim this event.
